For Fall/Winter 2025, A Kind of Guise takes its audience eastward, trading city lines for the vast horizons of Mongolia. Known for its biannual explorations that root each collection in a specific place and culture, the Munich-based labelturns its gaze toward the country’s untamed landscapes, where freedom, craft, and endurance shape both life and design.
The collection, titled “Altai Mirage,” unfolds as a study in movement and mythology—a portrait of the Mongolian steppe seen through the brand’s refined minimalism. Central to the narrative is the image of a horse in full gallop, a symbol of limitless motion and independence. That feeling is distilled in an original artwork by artist Jonathan Niclaus, whose piece was printed onto Italian cotton corduroy, transforming a fine art composition into a textural statement garment.
Each look in FW25 reflects the textures of the terrain: lambswool and hairy wool blends mimic the resilience of nomadic life, while durable tailoring and hand-finished details pay homage to the functionality embedded in Mongolian tradition. The collection also incorporates cultural emblems—most notably a purple dragon motif, appearing across standout pieces like the Dragon Wool Jacket and the Khivs Pullover. These garments bridge ritual and utility, evoking both the spiritual and physical landscapes of the Altai.
